UK and German businesses urge EU negotiators to focus on economic interests in Brexit talks

British and German companies urge EU negotiators to focus on the economy on both sides as the third round of Brexit talks getting under way in Brussels on Monday.

Businesses want clarity on future trading transitional arrangements, the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce (DIHK) said.

A set of questions relevant to businesses are yet to be settled, including the rights of EU workers in UK and British workers in the 27 remaining EU member states. There are rising concerns that negotiations on future trade ties between the sides could be delayed beyond the fall.
