UK budget deficit falls to 5.9 billion pounds in September

The UK budget deficit in September dropped to the lowest level since 2007, the Office for National Statistics reported.

Public borrowing last month was £5.9bn compared with £6.6 bn a year earlier, while experts in a The Wall Street Journal poll had the median forecast of £6.6 bn.

The net volume of public borrowing in the UK since the beginning of the financial year edged down by £ 2.5 billion compared with the same stage a year earlier - to £ 32.5 billion, the lowest level since 2007.
