UK car sales in October slip for seventh straight month

UK new car sales in October tumbled by about 12 percent year on year to 158,192 units, marking a seventh month in row of decline, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders reported. Demand for diesel cars dropped by about 30 percent.

The industry body say, sliding business and consumer confidence have become the main reasons of the drop.

The overall car market is slipping 4.6 percent in the year to date, with 2.22 million units registered in the first 10 months of 2017.
