UK home prices rise at the fastest pace in August

UK house prices increased in August at the fastest pace this year, possibly signaling the housing market has recovered after its post-Brexit vote slowdown, according to the data from the mortgage lender Halifax.

Housing prices jumped 1.1 percent from July, the strongest one-month increase. Prices rose 2.6 percent year-on-year over the three months through August.

The average house price climbed to £222,293 from £219,918.
