UK manufacturing growth slows in September

Britain's factory growth slowed last month, as the Bank of England is still on track toward an interest-rate hike.

The IHS Markit/CIPS UK Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) dropped to 55.9 from a downwardly revised 56.7 in August, as economists in a Reuters poll had expected the figure of 56.4.

The manufacturing sector expanded at a modest rate and momentum seems to be lost across the broader UK economy.
