Wal-Mart workers deliver packages to nearby customers on their way home

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is testing a new program of online orders delivery. Company's workers can make a little extra money by making deliveries to customers on their way home at the end of their shifts.

The test began in two stores in New Jersey and one in Arkansas.

Wal-Mart has 4,700 U.S. stores and more than a million retail workers, while 90 percent of Americans live within 10 miles of company's store.

By using existing employees in their own vehicles, Wal-Mart could create a wide network with low preliminary costs. It is vitally important taking into account that Amazon is able to deliver some products in as little as an hour in some cities.
