Wall Street rises after better-than-expected jobs report

U.S. stocks climbed on Friday on employment gains in November, which underline the economy’s impressive fundamentals.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ticked up 0.2%, to 24,261.

The S&P 500 gained 0.3% to 2,646.

The Nasdaq Composite Index jumped 0.7%, to 6,863. Nonfarm payrolls increased by 228,000 jobs in November, Labor Department reported on Friday.

Revised data for October showed the economy add 244,000 jobs instead of the previously reported 261,000 positions.
