Weak dollar supports U.S. economy – Mnuchin

The U.S. Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin is not concerned about the weakening of the dollar, considering it a positive factor for trade.

A weaker greenback supports the U.S. economy by improving the conditions for foreign trade, Mnuchin said at the annual Davos summit.

Mnuchin also noted the "very positive" response of the business to the tax reform, approved by U.S. lawmakers at the end of last year.

The dollar index slumped 0.5% to 89.666 on Wednesday.
