Tsipras Postponed the Payment to the IMF

With Greece being constantly under the ‘’microscope’’ of its creditors, the nation’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was able to postpone the payment to the IMF, and made Greece the first country to achieve such a condition since the 1980’s.

Even though there has been some progress on the Greek matter, Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, stated that there is still a lot of things to be done till a proper agreement and a conclusion is reached.

In addition, the Greeks are running out of funds, therefore it is absolutely vital and critical for Alexis Tsipras to come up to a conclusion with the creditors and all other relevant authorities as soon as possible.
Furthermore, the international creditors’ latest proposal was rejected by Greece, as the Minister of Finance stated that the creditors need to consider a more ‘’realistic’’ proposal.
At 3:50 p.m. New York time, the euro, after rising to $1.1318 amid the payment delay to the IMF as requested by Greece, reached $1.1238, having dropped 0.3% versus the greenback.
