US stock markets are expected to open lower this afternoon after the US500 printed its highest level of the year at 2119 during yesterday’s session. The futures contract for the S&P500 was trading around 2112 on the opening bell before a sharp rally out the gate and sharp pullback in the first hour of the US session.
After this the market calmed down and proceeded to steadily rise to the high of the day which traded around an hour before the cash closing level of 2117. Since then there’s been some noticeable selling which first began during the Asian session as equity markets in Japan had a down day before Europe began on the back foot and saw the US500 trade down to a recent low of 2107.
