Federal Reserve Governor Jerome Powell stated earlier that the Fed was "ready for whatever happens" in Britain’s close-to-call vote on European Union membership tomorrow.
Despite opinion polls suggesting that the vote is still too close to call the markets are telling a different story with sterling crosses and the FTSE both trading near the top of their recent ranges.
One of the main events this afternoon will be Fed chair Yellen testifying on the semiannual monetary policy report at 15:00
