Gold Fields H1 Profit Jumps 81%, Boosts Dividend

JOHANNESBURG, Aug 25 (Reuters) - South Africa's Gold Fields said on Tuesday its half-year profit ‌rose 81%, driven by higher gold prices, output and sales.

The Johannesburg-based miner reported headline earnings per share of $2.08 for the six months to June 30, up from $1.15 a year earlier.

Gold Fields said it would pay a dividend of 16.25 rand ($1.01) per share, an increase of 133% on last year's interim payout.

Gold prices have been supported by safe-haven buying and expectations of U.S. interest rate cuts. Gains ‌were capped, however, by a stronger dollar and concerns that higher oil prices linked to the Middle East conflict could fuel inflation.

Gold Fields' gold output was 12% higher at 1.267 million ounces during the first half of 2026, compared with the prior period. It maintained its full-year gold production guidance of 2.4 to 2.6 million ounces.
