ZAR Stable as Israel-Iran Ceasefire Holds, Focus on Key Data

JOHANNESBURG, June 25 (Reuters) - The South African rand was steady on Wednesday as investors digested the fragile Israel-Iran ceasefire that brought relief to rattled markets, and braced for key economic data from the world's largest economy.

At 1501 GMT, the rand traded at 17.7825 against the dollar , a whisker away from Tuesday's close.

The greenback was also little changed against a basket of currencies as markets awaited U.S. gross domestic product and jobs data due on Thursday and the Price Consumption Expenditure scheduled to be released on Friday.

Domestically-focused investors on Thursday will look to producer price index data and the South African Reserve Bank's quarterly bulletin, which will shed light on foreign direct investment flows in Africa's most industrialised economy.

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange's Top-40 index last traded down 0.5%.

South Africa's benchmark 2035 government bond was flat, as the yield fell 0.5 basis points to 9.945%.
